LGBT Content in Sailor Moon

After having posted that MakoAmi artwork to several locations on Facebook, Discord and Reddit, I received several instances of pushback from people angry that it portrayed two girls kissing. These people have read/seen the Sailor Moon series before, right? I know the old English dubs did everything they could to hide the existence of LGBT people, but I’d have thought that fans would know that SM is LGBT friendly by this point.
