Birks smell ?..

I hear all the time that birks smell or make your feet stink I’ve had the the same pair for 3 years and no smell coming from them. But I bought a knockoff pair called George from the Walmart and they do smell and my reefs flip flops too. But the birks any thoughts on why ?.
