Quick question

I am quite new to chastity and have been wearing through out the day but during the night I get a really bad pain in my scrotum. I have tried a couple different size rings and the one I use is a perfect fit but gives me pain in the night and only at night so I need to use lube before I go to bed or is it a normal thing?
