Phantom liberty would make an amazing live action movie

I think it would be fairly easy to adapt. The only problem I see narratively is V. The main story is about 25 hours of gameplay, there’s really too much back story there to compress into a 2-3 hour movie and have it accessible to audiences that haven’t played the game. So maybe make it simple, V is a mercenary with a virus destroying his/her brain. Idk if you’d want to add Johnny or if that would make it too complicated or weird.

As for the story I think, in a movie, sending songbird to the stars would be the canon ending. Narratively siding with reed and going into a survival horror genre is too much of a narrative shift from the spy thriller story that would be the rest of the movie. It also feels like the “good ending” the two main protagonists of the movie facing off in the final scene for the soul of the damsel. As a classic story ending it’s fantastic.

Alternatively If they could make multiple movies the think cyberpunk 2077 would make a good trilogy. First movie could literally just be about the heist, then second about saving V.

The problem though is that if for the third movie you do phantom liberty the logical end for V is Langley. Which as I said above isn’t the most narratively satisfying ending to the phantom liberty story, in my opinion.

If it were me I’d make a single movie about phantom liberty. If that does well then maybe you could get a trilogy green lit for the main story.

Now for the obvious joke: who would you cast to play Johnny and Reed?
