You thought the Sequels were an unplanned mess? Wrong. It's all about Kylo Ren's helmet
I don't take credit for this theory.

Kylo Ren's helmet embodies the meta of the Sequal Trilogy:
**The Force Awakens**
In a cynical/nostalgic call-back to Darth Vader in the Original Trilogy, the main bad guy (Kylo Ren) is similarly given a helmet. Disney is remaking a New Hope but with new characters.

**The Last Jedi**
In keeping with some guy's (Ryan Johnson) iconoclastic take on Star Wars, Snoke tells Kylo to 'take that ridiculous thing off' and the helmet is subsequently smashed into many pieces. The 'death of the mask' parallels the death of sacred characters such as Luke and Han Solo in TLJ. Some guy has broken Star Wars apart and left the pieces scattered all around.

**The Rise of Skywalker**
In trying to repair the Trilogy, J. J. Abrams repairs the mask, but with only partial success. The fragments left by some guy (Ryan Johnson) are put back together but it doesn't look quite right. The repair is a bodge. It was a rushed job.
