WWE 2K23 Control Stops Mid Match

I don't know what's going on this happened three times now. I get to the point I'm about to win and I lose control of who I am playing as. The game still thinks I'm playing though and gives me the bar to kick out but I can't do anything and I always lose. What the hell is going on and I can't fix it with controller assignment it gets grayed out
