I didn't like Sly 2
Ok hear me out. As a kid I was given my PS2 that I still have alongside a handful of games from my cousin. One of them was Sly 1 which I highly enjoyed. I liked it so much I skipped hanging out with my friends for an hour because I had to beat Clockwork. Well I liked the game so much I decided to see if there were any sequels and to my delight there were. However the GameStop in the mall at the time didn't have Sly 2 but they did have Sly 3 so I ended up buying it and from what I remember I enjoyed it almost as much but not quite.
Well 14 years later as a man in my 20s I bought the trilogy and was delighted to see that Sly 1 was just as good as I remembered (although getting 100% was a task too difficult for me to complete) so naturally I had to play the sequel for the first time ever finally. What I was greeted with was one of the most frustrating and confusing games I have ever played.
Lets start off with what I liked. Let me just say, for those of you who thought Bentley was awful to play as I thought he was ok but definitely the weakest Character but not nearly as bad as what you guys were making him out to be. The fact that you get to play as him and Murray was a welcome addition. The storyline with the Contessa was brilliant and the part where you had to break Sly and Murray out of prison was the best part of the game for me. Also really enjoyed the last areas setting.
Now let me state the negatives. Getting all the clues was an absolute chore and wasted hours of my life. Especially in Episode 3 I absolutely hated everything about that part. I never want to play this game again because of that part. The combat was very finicky after you hit and enemy you have to stand back to hit them again otherwise they get a free shot at you. And any mission you had to hide in barrels was a nightmare because the guards would stay put if you blocked their way. And sometimes in my opinion it was really difficult to understand what exactly you had to do in a mission if you didn't pay close attention to the intercom calls. The bosses on the other hand were way too easy. I think Dimitri was the only one I really thought posed any challenge outside of the helicopter fight with Neyla.
And my final complaint is outside the Contessa none of the Villains I thought were that intimidating or good. Dimitri was funny sure and I know he has some good lines in the next game, but compare these villains to Panda King, Mz. Ruby, Muggshot and Clockwerk and there is none. Sure we had Raleigh but who cares about him. Ultimately I was highly disappointed after waiting over a decade to play this game and I'm hoping Sly 3 is as good as I remember.
Edit: Nice to see me getting hate and threats for not liking a game thanks guys never posting another opinion on here again
