Noob looking for a little guidance - thanks in advance!

TL;DR: HALP!

I've started working my way through the resource links in this sub, and frankly, I'm overwhelmed by it all.

I was a smoker for a couple of decades, starting as a teenager, quit for a decade, then started again during the pandemic. I started using the Vuse Alto (1.8% nic) and it seems a lot better than smoking. It's also expensive - as expensive as smoking. From what I can tell getting a refillable will significantly reduce the cost (can someone confirm this for me?).

So now I'm trying to figure out which refillable vape will deliver a similar experience to the Vuse Alto. I like the small form factor, so I've been looking at the Vaporesso Luxe Q2 and the Voopoo Argus G2. The problem is that I'm like a dog at Wimbledon: my head is going back and forth, but I don't really have any idea what I'm looking at. Do I want a "sub-ohm" tank? Do I need multiple pods? Or multiple vapes for when one is charging? I'm not opposed to a "tank" style vape if there is a good reason to go with it instead of a smaller one (note: I don't need it to be highly customizable - I just need it to deliver an experience similar to the Vuse Alto or better, and the less mucking around I have to do with it, the better for me), I just don't know what that reason might be.

I'd appreciate recommendations - especially from folks that have used the Alto and switched to a refillable, or who use a refillable and have tried the Alto =\]

\*Edit to add: I'm one of the folks that has the "pod is spitting liquid" problem as well, and from what I can tell from reading up a bit, it is likely because I like to get a hard pull, so ideally I'd also want a vape that can handle a good, long, pull without shooting vape juice into my mouth \*sigh\*
