How important is nen to the current arc?

Talking with someone and curious where the community stands on it. They say nen isn’t important to the current arc and I say it’s very important. Where do you guys stand? Do you think nen is important to the current arc or not?

Edit: The reason why I probably made the post is because the person in question refused to say what is important. They kept saying I was missing the point and wrong but never actually said what was important. If I’m missing what’s important I would like to know. Maybe it’s just me but don’t repeatedly tell someone they’re wrong and never say why. Honestly thinking they might just be trolling at this point.
