Newbie-Power Inverters

I am very new to solar. I have purchased some equipment to set up a test system—just to see how it goes.

4x400W Trina panels-used
120A charge controller-new
1000W inverter-new
400W power optimizers-used
200W load-resistive
12V sealed lead acid battery

I started by hooking two panel in series-85V max and 9.xA max. This set up would run the load while the panels were in direct sun. If any clouds hit the panels, the inverter started beeping at 10.6V and then down the load went. I believe that the battery is not good due to max charge showing 10.5V even after being on plug in charger over night.

I hooked the panels two sets of two panels in series-85V max and 19A max. The battery would show 14.2V as long as the panels were in full sun. Load would run until clouds came and battery dipped below 10.6V

I am fairly sure I need a new battery.

I tried to wire up the power optimizers and the would not turn on.

My question is: how do I get them to turn on since I don’t want to buy a large string inverter for this test setup.

I have read a bit and saw that they may need to be activated. If so, what app is best for solaredge power optimizers?

Any info would be great!! Searched a ton on how to wire up power optimizers and all I seem to get is why to buy them…
