What's it like in the reserves?

Hi, I live near Halifax and I've been looking into the reserves. I've read a lot of info online but I want to hear some perspective from people who are/were in the reserves.

A big question I have is that the website seems to put lots of emphasis in part time work, would it be hard to join full time? Other than that I'd just like to hear people's experiences, opinions or advice on the matter. thanks!
