Should I get checked out on HBL?
I was recently in the 09 Mike Program (Retard School) and during PT I’ve suffered a few injuries that had me put on profiles or quarters.
I played football for 5-6 years including Semi Pro and had no issues with shin splints, knees, etc but when I arrived at FT Jackson and began PT two weeks in I had severe shin splints and was put on profile and crutches for a week. It didn’t help much as I had to do a follow up and was then put on Quarters for another week. After my quarters I was sent in for a bone scan where they could see the severity of my injury.
The doctor or whatever at Sickcall told me I didn’t have any shin splints (he diagnosed) and then proceeded to test the strength in my hips. He was able to fully push down my left side leg with two fingers and concluded that I just had weak hips. In the bay I had battle buddies try to push down on either side of my hips and learned my left one was considerably weaker than the right.
They have us sit cross legged and with a short period of time sitting my legs behind my knees start to feel weak and I get intense pain and struggle trying to extend them back out. Also when running from getting up from that position my legs start to give out.
I report to Ft Lenard Wood on the 2nd of January and I’m just wondering if I should get checked by the civilian hospital or just try to push though and see what happens.
