Edifice Era-500 second hand stopping of loosing time

This might seem like a weird question, but the second hand on my Edifice Era-500 either stops or looses seconds. For example, the digital seconds would keep the correct time, say 35 seconds, but the actual seconds hands say something like 28. Even after setting the hands position time and time again, it keeps happening. Sometimes it will keep correct time, but even then the next day it will be off.
