"We all have our favorites, don't we?" Part 1 (Realistic Fiction)

Trina was about to lay into her team during their daily meeting. She wasn't in charge but if the leadership wasn't going to say what had to be said, she'd have to do it herself. As soon as she started to speak, she glanced over at Ben, the Operations Manager. He was looking down at the stack of papers in front of him as he tried to hide the grin that was threatening to spread across his face. She knew he enjoyed these little outbursts of hers.

Once Trina finished speaking and Ben got control over his facial expressions again, he looked up. When he made eye contact with her, he couldn't hide the glimmer of approval in his eyes. He admired her courage. She didn't seem to care if everyone thought she was a bitch or not, as long as they knew she was right. She was brutally honest and would go after people in a "tell it like it is" fashion, both her superiors and her work peers alike. She knew exactly where the boundaries were and what she could get away with. He used to run her department but he had been promoted a year earlier and his replacement, Kevin, had his own, shittier way of doing things. Listening to her rants were cathartic for him, it was like she could read his mind. He wished he could say half of the shit that she got away with saying, but if he did, everyone would whine to HR and he'd be getting sent to sensitivity training again.

Trina hated having to go on a rant during team meetings, it caused a lot of anxiety but it was the only way she could relive her frustration with the job. She did like how it made Ben smile though. She loved the way his eyes twinkled and the connection she felt with him in the glances they exchanged, as if they shared a secret that no one else knew. She wished he was still her boss instead of the idiot who was running the department now, she didn't have much to complain about back then.

A few days later in Ben's office:

"Mike is such an asshole, he always weasels out of having to do the more annoying tasks and makes the rest of the team pick up his slack. Of course Kevin just lets it happen. I just wanna kick them both in the balls!"

Ben laughed, glad that the door was closed and no one else could hear them. *I'd love to see that!* he thought to himself but he said, "Please control that urge, I'd hate to see you get in trouble."

"I wouldn't really do it..." she said defensively.

"Remember, if you need to vent I am always here to listen. So next time you want to kick someone in the balls, just come and tell me about it instead." He was excited at the thought of her visiting him more often. It was moments like these that he lived for. He didn't have much to look forward to in his dull life and these chats with her made him feel less alone. It made him feel special that he got to be one of her favorites while she seemed to hate most of the people there.

Ben was surprised to be home when he pulled into his driveway. He barely remembered his journey. He had been thinking about Trina kicking her coworkers in the balls. His cock was so hard, he couldn't wait to get in the shower and stroke one off.

When he was in the shower, he attached a metal ball stretcher to the base of his scrotum. He took his cock in his hand and as he felt the weight pulling on his balls, he imagined what it would be like to have Trina there. He pictured her kneeling in front of him with her long, dark hair drenched and clinging to that amazing body of hers. He imagined how it would feel to have her mouth wrapped around his cock and her hands pulling on his nuts. It didn't take long for him to cum.

---

Ben had a dream about Trina that night:

They were sitting in his office. Trina stretched her legs out under the desk as she slouched in her chair. She slipped one of her feet between his legs and started pressing on his balls while she casually complained about work. She didn't even seem to notice as Ben squirmed from the pain, she just continued to bitch and moan as she slouched more and more, sliding her foot forward and increasing the pressure to his aching nuts. Ben couldn't get a word in edgewise and she was too wrapped up in her own misery to notice the pain she was inflicting on him.

When she ran out of things to say, she finally realized what she was doing and pulled her foot away. She shrugged, stood up and said "Thanks for letting me vent." before leaving.

A few weeks later:

Ben knew today was going to be a rough day. It was always hard when the company did lay offs but this one would be particularly difficult, today would be Trina's last day and there wasn't anything he could do about it. Her supervisor, Kevin was absolutely giddy that he was getting rid of her and he wasn't afraid to let it show when Ben spoke to him that morning. Ben wished he could have said what he wanted to at that moment but he decided to let Kevin have his joy, knowing it would be short lived. He knew he couldn't blow the surprise or else he'd have a hard time getting Kevin to do what he had to do that day.

There were eight employees in Kevin's department that would be getting let go that day, but Kevin only knew of seven. He would be in charge of bringing each one to the HR office, sitting with them while they received the news and then escorting them out of the building. What Kevin didn't know was that he would be the final employee to face termination, with Ben handling his dismissal.

The day dragged on slowly as Ben watched Kevin walk the employees past his office, one by one. Some were having a really hard time with it and it was taking a long time to get them out the door. Finally it was Trina's turn. His heart sank as he watched her stroll past his office with Kevin. She was composed and gave him a small nod as she passed by his open door. *Strong as ever.* He thought to himself.

Ben met them as they exited the HR office. "Things are running behind schedule," he told Kevin. "Go and get the next person on the list, and I'll see Trina out." Kevin nodded and walked away, looking a bit annoyed.

Trina maintained her composure but remained silent and stone faced was they reached the exit. "Can I walk you to your car?" Ben asked, hoping to be able to have a word with her once they were alone. She nodded.

"I'm really sorry about this. There wasn't anything I could do." He said.

"It's fine." She said numbly.

"How was Kevin, was he an ass about it?"

She shook her head, "No."

*Lucky for him.* Ben thought to himself as he considered the way he wanted to handle Kevin's termination later in the day. "So, how are you feeling?"

She shrugged, "It's time that I moved on."

"Well, you take care alright? I'm going to miss seeing you every day."

That's when it happened. All of the emotions she had welling up inside her started to leak out. She took a deep breath and looked away, trying to collect herself. It was so much harder with Ben there, but hard in a good way. This was the closure she needed.

Ben wasn't entirely sure what to do. He wanted to hold her but he didn't know if that would be okay. There was so much more he wanted to say to comfort her but he feared it would make her even more emotional. Even though she was having a difficult time in the moment, he knew *she* would be okay. He knew she'd find another job and move on with her life. It hurt so much to see her go, knowing that as she moved on, she would be leaving him behind.

He took half a step closer to her and she fell into him, wrapping her arms around him. He held her as she silently wept, wishing the moment could last forever because that would mean he'd never have to say goodbye. "I know this is tough, but you're strong. You'll get through this." he whispered. Then to lighten the mood, he added, "You could kick me in the balls if it will cheer you up." He felt her stiffen in his arms and pull away.

Looking down, she wiped the tears from her eyes. She took a long, exaggerated breath, shook her head and said "Oh, I bet you say that to all the girls..." She slowly looked up and smiled.

They shared a laugh and he replied, "You damned well better believe I don't! That reminds me..." He reached into his pocket. "I almost forgot..." He pulled out one of his business cards. "I've never done this for anyone before but we all have our favorites, don't we? I've written the name of a friend's company on the back. You send them a resume and I'm going to put a good word in for you. I think you'll do well there."

"Thanks." she said, taking the card and examining it.

He gently squeezed her arm and said, "Keep in touch and let me know if you need anything." Starting to get a bit choked up himself, he let her go and walked back to the building.

---

Ben floated through the motions of his after work routine, feeling like a ghost. His mind was too preoccupied by the events of the day.

Kevin had behaved himself during the layoff process, so Ben allowed him to keep his dignity when it was his turn. At the door, Kevin paused and looked back, perhaps expecting some final comment. Ben simply nodded, a gesture that said everything and nothing at the same time.

Now alone in his empty living room, he poured himself two fingers of whiskey and sat in the dark. he replayed the moments with Trina in his mind: her initial stone-faced composure, the moment she broke and fell into his arms, her reaction when he made that ridiculous joke about kicking him. He skipped back and forth through his memories of her, playing them over and over again in his mind. Each one revealing layers of connection he hadn't fully acknowledged until today.

---

Ben had a hard time getting to sleep that night. He couldn't get Trina off his mind. He started to think about all the ways things could have played out if she really had kicked him:

He imagined her kicking him hard and watching him writhe around on the ground for a few minutes and then saying "Thanks, I do feel better." before getting in her car and driving away.

He thought about what it might be like if she kicked him and felt bad after. Perhaps she'd give him a light kick that was still hard enough to make him double over and groan in pain. He imagined her giggling at his reaction and then saying, "That was such a light kick, I didn't think it was going to hurt you that much!" and then holding him while he recovered and she apologized over and over.

He drifted off to sleep and had a nightmare:

Trina and him were standing in the parking lot. He told her, "I'm going to miss seeing you every day" and went in for a hug. She grabbed him by the shoulders and kneed him in the crotch. He hunched forward.

"This is your fault!" she whispered in his ear. She pulled her leg back and then kneed him again. He fell backwards onto the ground. She stepped forward, placing her foot on his crotch.

He felt his balls flatten under her foot. "I'm sorry!" he squeaked, feeling helpless. He curled around her foot as she slid it from side to side. "Please stop, you're going to crush them!" he begged.

She shrugged indifferently as she raised one eyebrow and tilted her head to the side. "Maybe I should." she smirked, looking dead behind the eyes. She lifted her foot and got ready to stomp.

Ben woke up drenched in sweat, his heart was racing and his cock was rock hard.
