Planning on becoming an Executive Producer

I've always wanted to join the film industry from a very young age, and have always had a special love for animation. Unfortunately, in later years, I've come to realize that I'm not very skilled in animation, and I may not even be good at story telling in general, but I still want to be a part of finding unique ideas and helping to bring them to life. At my job, I've been able to save up a decent amount of money, and think that I may be able to safely find an animated project of a lower budget, and using that as a platform to become a full on Executive Producer. I was thinking of having people pitch ideas, and I would fund the one that works best for me. I guess my question is is about the best way to go about it, I want to be able to invest in this project where if it proves successful, I can make back what I put into it, but also get enough of a return investment where I can put more into future projects, but I also want to be fair to the ones actually making the project so they can progress from it and gain a return investment as well. I guess what I'm wondering is how is the best way to go about this, and what would be a fair percentage of splitting the potential proceeds? In the end, I likely won't have much to do with the production process itself, I'll just be finding it.
