We've all seen this video, but does anyone know the story behind it?

Same to say that this is probably one of the most famous ballbusting videos of all time, and its been around for as long as I can remember, but I'm yet to understand what's really happening here.

Seems like he's holding something on his mouth? Was this a cup test? The kick is clearly intentional and people start clapping..

Any clues?
