Question about NG+

So I'm probably about to finish my first route (Ilias route) soon, and I was wondering regarding NG+ and route-exclusive recruits.

I've already seen you can restart either from the Beginning or from the Great Decision, so I wanted to know if you lose out on anything when restarting from the Great Decision (besides the lore/story, of course).
