Is Silksong even playable for normal gamers?

I’m a big fan of HK, I’ve beaten most bosses in Radiant. However, I crashed into a wall with its sequel.

I just cannot beat “Groal the Great”, I’ve been trying for HOURS and nothing, and considering every try takes more than 10 minutes, it has become awful. I’m not enjoying the game. I’m not getting any fun from it. I play video games to have a good time, if I wanted to get stuck in repetitive tasks (runbacks) over and over and over again, I’d just get a minimum-wage job.

They say “Get more masks!”, but I have to beat a Savage Beastfly in a scenario where I can practically never touch the floor, while I have summoned fire-throwing bugs roasting my ass. So I’m stuck again. And even if I eventually beat it, great! Now I die in four hits instead of four hits, because everything takes two masks.

They say, “Improve damage!”, and I find another wall with an enraged Conchflie.

They say, “Use the tools!”, but most of the mentioned tools are overpriced or hidden behind a wall that’s virtually impossible to see unless you’re specifically looking for it (wikis). Besides, most of them just change the way you play; they don’t offer a real improvement. I don’t feel like exploring has its rewards, I’m not hitting every single inch of the map just to check if there’s something there. In HK, looking for secret paths was optional; in Silksong, it feels mandatory.

They say “Get good”, Look, I play on weekends. I’m not ignoring responsibilities in order to get good at a game. I don’t see video games as a job, nor as a skill I should have to practice every day.

I’ve played over 30 hours, but I think I’ll just quit for good.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this game, despite how beautiful it is.
