Question about Returning

I've been thinking about wanting to play Warframe again after a bunch of years cause I miss how nice the gunplay felt (my favorite alternative was Remnant 2 lol).

The reason I'd stopped playing back then was because I didn't really like the "Open World" planet areas and how much focus there was on them, with all the cool new stuff being locked to them.

Is the game still like that now, or is the tighter mission-based gameplay back in the foreground?
