D&D Writing Help

I’m currently still working on finishing a story about a D&D group that slowly devolves into ballbusting in game. The issue I’m encountering is how can I make the fight scenes more interesting? I’ve been describing what each of the characters does and what they roll, but it ends up being way too long and is sort of just a list of actions. It’s especially difficult because it’s from the perspective of the players so it’s not like I can describe it as if it were a normal fight. Any thoughts?
