Question about Rank Reset

Okay so last season literally yesterday afternoon I was Diamond 3 82% I feel like my brain just totally forgot that the rocket racing season also resets when a new season starts so I just didn't push it at all and now after One race I'm gold one. During the beginning of the season is it easier to progress or something?
