🎉 RedQuill Updates - Week of February 8, 2026

# New Features

**✍️ Blank Page**

Off of the presses from community feedback! You can now start a story from a completely blank page. When creating a story, select "Empty" as the first chapter length and you'll drop straight into the editor - no AI-generated text, no quills spent. Write entirely on your own, or mix it up with AI-generated chapters later.

**🔍 Search**

You can now search across all of RedQuill - stories, components, and story ideas - from a single search bar. As you type, you'll see live results and AI-powered suggestions for related searches to help you discover more of what you're into. You can even create a new story directly from your search term. Your recent searches are saved so you can pick up where you left off. We are seeing how well this search functionality does, and in the future, will be merging search in /discover to be unified.

**🗑️ Delete Your Account**

You can now delete your own account directly from your profile, though if you want to contact Support [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) to help you, you can still do so right now. Go to your profile menu and select "Delete Account." You'll need to confirm by checking a box and typing "DELETE MY ACCOUNT" to make sure it's intentional. If you have an active subscription, you'll be prompted to cancel it first. Once deleted, your account is permanently removed.

# Updates/Fixes

* **Valentine's Day Sale** \- 50% off subscriptions through February 15. Use code VALENTINES at checkout.
* **Faster Page Loads** \- Optimized images and reduced layout shifting across the home page, story pages, discover, and sign-in pages. Things should feel noticeably snappier.
* **No Spice Emoji -** The "clean, wholesome chapter" option now uses a bell pepper 🫑 instead of the old emoji.

* We're currently exploring Recents/Favorites for Components, as that's a common suggestion.
