We’ve been working through issues with our server and performance of the site since Friday.
We are seeing surges of traffic during specific hours that keep affecting the site performance and our other services.
These surges of traffic (some of which may not be legit) trigger “cascading” problems, and cause compounding failures. While we're aware of instability problems from past months, these have triggered new problems with infrastructure.
We’ve been fixing and working on multiple issues at the same time, from server, DB, AI, third-party services and more. You should be seeing the site load faster and story generation back up, but we're seeing there's still variability and working on it.
Two asks/requests:
1) If you are an infrastructure/AI/backend engineer, please DM me on Reddit directly. We are open-minded to getting any insight or brainpower, so we fix both these immediate problems and make things way better long-term.
