**Ben 10**: In the second series alien force, Ben doesn't have the omnitrix at the beginning of the series. It was the biggest mystery for a while both why and how Ben managed to take it off. Then comes omniverse and it gives us the feedback arc. Where he was ripped out of his 11 year old self and never shown from the series up to that point.
But what the writers intended was to have this be the inciting incident to why Ben removed the omnitrix. Why its not in the show is because the writers thought cartoon network would reject the idea. So the moment was left oblivious in the series but canon in the hearts of many fans.
**Sonic**: One of the many mandates Sega made after the archie comics debacle. Was that "currency" was not allowed to be mentioned or shown in the series. This makes things complicated as many times currency was shown (and used) at various points. But it's a hard pill to swallow that currency doesn't exist in the Sonic universe.
