🎉 RedQuill Updates - Week of April 12, 2026

# What's New

**📚 Collections**

You can now create collections to organize your favorite stories, components, ideas, and quizzes into curated lists. Think of them like playlists but for RedQuill content.

* Create public or private collections and add anything to them from its page
* Follow other people's collections to get notified when they add new items
* Leave comments on collections
* Upload or AI-generate a cover image for your collection
* Browse and search collections on the Discover page under the new Collections tab

**⭐ Story Ratings**

Stories now have a 1-5 star rating system. You can rate any story you've read, and the average rating and count show up on story cards and detail pages.

New"Top Rated" sort option on Discover and Browse so you can find the highest rated stories. Ratings show up everywhere you see stories, including search results and previews

We want to surface the best stuff the community is creating. Rate stories you love so other RedQuillers can find them too.

**💬 Live Community Chat**

There's now a real-time chat you can open from the sidebar. It's like a shared room for the whole RedQuill community.

* Send messages, reply to others, and react with emoji
* Scroll back through chat history
* Works on desktop and mobile

This is brand new and we want to see how you all use it. Pop in and say hi, share what you're working on, or just hang out.

**📝 Story Notepad**

You now have a private notepad for each of your stories. Use it to jot down plot ideas, track character details, or keep notes while you write.

* Create multiple notes per story
* Notes auto-save as you type
* Access your notepad from the story page

**🧭 Improved Reading Navigation**

We redesigned how you move through chapters while reading. There's now a sticky header with a chapter selector that shows chapter titles, the story name, and author. You can also open Story Info, Play, or Roleplay from a menu in the header.

* Jump to any chapter from the dropdown without scrolling back up
* Chapter labels show "Chapter X: Title" when a title exists

**Other Updates**

* **Search for everyone:** The search bar is now available in the header even if you're not logged in, so you can browse and discover public content before signing up
* **Story previews on Discover:** Clicking a story on the Discover page now opens a quick preview instead of navigating away, matching how it works on the home page
* **Tags overhaul:** The tag picker when creating or editing a story is now a searchable tree organized by category. Tags on story pages are collapsible with a "Show more/Show less" toggle
* **Kink Madness Champion:** If you correctly predicted the Kink Madness winner, you'll get a special achievement badge and notification. Check your achievements page
* **Chapter continuity fix:** Longer chapters were getting partially summarized, which could cause the AI to lose track of plot details in later chapters. This is now fixed

# Community

1) **Looking for RQers interested who want to be more involved in programming!** We are starting to work with u/hawk_lee on community initiatives, and are looking for 1-2 additional RQers who would be interested in any of the following:

* **Path to authorship** \- Being a group of Patient 0s who develop a playbook for getting readers and developing an author pen name on RedQuill
* **Education around storywritng and RQ** \- Holding writing workshops, tips / tricks, guides, product demos

**2) Looking for help with partnerships** \- We want to partner with other aligned AI writing/fiction/story communities, or creators outside of RedQuill to drive more awareness. If you are parts of communities who might enjoy RedQuill, we'd like to get in touch with them and see how we can collaborate!
