🎉 RedQuill Updates - Week of April 19, 2026

# What's New

**💬 Live Chat Upgrades**

We have **Live Chat** now on RedQuill! And Live Chat just got a big round of improvements. It's faster, more reliable, and has some fun new tricks.

* Fixed the reconnection issues some of you were seeing (the amber "Reconnecting..." dot should be gone)
* New options menu in the chat drawer, plus a scroll-to-bottom button so you can catch up quickly
* Overall reliability and performance improvements across the board

We're really liking how the chat is shaping up. Keep hanging out in there, it's fun seeing what you're all working on. Give us feedback, and if you see issues with bad actors, please let us know.

**👤 User Profile Updates**

Your profile page got a refresh this week!

* New layout on the Discover page for user profiles, making it easier to browse and find other RedQuillers
* You can now edit your bio directly on your profile page without opening a separate settings screen

**✍️ Write Together (Subscribers)**

This one's for our subscribers. There's a brand new "Write Together" page in the sidebar where you can find collaborators that builds on top of our **Duet Mode/Collaborative Mode**, but allows for it to be easier to find others to write with.

* Browse other RedQuillers who are looking to co-write
* Set your availability and a short blurb about what you're interested in writing
* Edit your collaboration profile from a dedicated dialog

We're rolling this out to subscribers first and will expand based on how it goes. If you're subscribed, check it out and let us know what you think. We're also doing more on the community side outside of our app for you all to more easily find each other.

**Other Update**s:

* **Collection previews:** You can now preview collections directly from their page without navigating away
* **Cleaner story pages:** Story descriptions and tags on the reader are now neatly truncated with expand/collapse, so the page doesn't feel cluttered
* **Homepage crash fix:** Fixed a bug that could cause the homepage to crash in certain cases

**Seeking RQers for our experimental Authors program**

We are seeking RQers who are interested in building their own audience for published stories.

It will entail working with a small group directly to see how to drive social media/eternal platform engagement to your stories, experiment with marketing to see the effect on your story views/metrics and more.
