Marriage
Do feminists generally support marriage or not? And misogynists? Historically, many feminists have spoken out against it as an institution of the patriarchy. Some misogynists have spoken in favor of harems. At the same time, feminists have also considered things like gay marriage a win for them and their allies.
The tricky part is that marriage seems required for equality and they don't discuss that. High levels of marriage with men achieving rights and sharing them were prerequisites for wins in women's rights.
Marriage balances out women's greater power when young with men's greater power as they age in a traditional setting. Or at least that's what it appears to do.
So do you support less marriage or marriage reform to keep it equal? If you support less marriage how are you not a male or female supremacist--where society is ultimately structured to favor your sex and you just get to pick from the top choices of the opposite? Because the ideal worlds for single men and single women are different worlds, so no marriage forces conflict. Or if you are a male or female supremacist, please confirm.
Thanks!
