PSA for Rails

You are allowed and able to make decent builds with rails.

I'm mostly talking about T10, since decent builds are expected there. I was just in a battle where 2 rails were arguing about whose bot sucked. One had Tx armor, T10 plates, and 3 guns. The other had 6 guns, lower level plates, and an exposed pilot seat. They both sucked, a lot. Neither of these are acceptable builds in T10. The exposed pilot seat died in two shots to just about anything, the 3 gun died or was completely disarmed in 3.

Using rail guns, the minimum amount of rails you should use is 5. They're large, but if you can't fit 5, the damage potential is far too low. I personally wouldn't field anything less than 6, but if you are going for a compact build (especially a TX armored one), losing one for space is reasonable. At tier 10, having an exposed pilot is inexcusable.

Rails are big. They need a lot of space. They are the most difficult weapon to build with. Please, do not use that as an excuse for really bad bots. You can make a rail decently tanky. You can make a rail with enough guns. You can make a rail that is mobile enough. Please do, it is more fun for everyone.
