Hook Not Working! *Advice Please*

Hello All! I’ve been having an issue with the hook on my all.

I have been bowling in multiple leagues for over 4 years, but always used 2 fingers (One handed) like Mike Miller.

Now I got a new ball last year and had a thumb hole drilled this time because I have been wanting more control when I throw my ball. I have practiced hours on end and no matter what I do I have very little hook to my ball. I’ve watched countless hours of instructional videos for 2 finger bowlers switching to using thumb, practiced hours at my bowling alley, and have had professionals showing me techniques while I am bowling, yet still no good hook on my ball.

Everyone’s advice I’ve had so far has not really done anything. I’ve slowed my ball speed down, made sure everything was drilled correctly, using a more compact and steady approach.

Should I just get my thumb hole filled and go back to 2 fingers or does anyone have any advice that I haven’t heard or see from multiple sources. I know it’s kind of hard to give this information without video of me actually throwing my ball.

If need be I will get some videos next time I am at the lanes and I will bowl with the thumb and then my 2 finger approach. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
