## Chapter 4

My entire bedroom was flashing red and blue lights as I turned off my computer. My worst nightmare, even worse than the police, it was—

“Aunt Sallyyyyyyy!” Trista sprinted past my room, stomped down the stairs two steps at a time, then did her usual leap and bang on the downstairs floor.

Squealing could be heard as I slid the sleeping bag against the wall, then I double-checked that my pillows were perfectly aligned, the bedsheets were perfectly taut, and that my sleeping bag wasn’t a centimeter out of place. And most importantly, I hid the industrial-sized box of deodorizer.

I took a few deep breaths, gave my bedroom one last kiss goodbye, then dragged my feet as I made my way down the steps.

They were giggling like schoolgirls as they did their signature family hug—all three had their arms wrapped around their shoulders like a huddle as they spun in a circle. After a few more seconds of spinning and chanting, they all yelled “Break!” as they fell onto the carpet, cackling even more.

Aunt Sally was the first one to sit up. Her dark blue outfit, her badge, her ponytail—all pristine as usual. Her disgustingly sweaty black socks on the other hand…

“Stop right there!” Aunt Sally thrust her badge in my direction. “Is my room ready?”

I wanted to sigh so badly, but I held it in. “Yes, Aunt Sally.”

“Great,” she said as she lowered her badge. “After a long, 12-hour shift of dealing with criminals, there’s nothing better than resting in your favorite family’s house for the weekend. Although if you didn’t have my room prepped in time, I would’ve had to copy what Mom did on America’s Funniest Home Hits!”

All three of them laughed up a hurricane until Mom finally touched Aunt Sally’s shoulder.

“I swear, Sally, it was just his stomach!”

Aunt Sally patted Mom’s hand. “Was your foot on his stomach in your queen of the household picture too?”

“Okay, okay.” Mom couldn’t hold back her smirk. “Now *that* one was real.”

Trista held her crotch as she laid down. “And you should’ve seen Bobby’s face after—”

“I didn’t even make a face! You made that face when I vibe checked you!” I ripped the pillow off the couch and whipped it towards Trista’s head.

Trista caught it, then pressed it between her legs as she closed her eyes and scrunched her lips.

“Just like episode 1!” Aunt Sally said.

“No,” Trista said, “that was a different face after taking Mom’s victory picture. I raised my foot real high and pretended to stomp his… stomach!”

“You’re lucky you didn’t.” Mom smacked Trista’s foot. “You could’ve ruined my favorite foot-pillow!”

Aunt Sally held her stomach from laughing so hard. “Is that why you call it your foot-pillow? Wherever it is, a foot has to hit it?”

“Like a target!” Trista said. “We could earn extra points for—”

“Don’t you dare hurt my precious foot-pillow. Queen of the household’s orders!” Mom yanked the pillow out from between Trista’s legs, then hugged it to death. “Do you know how hard it was to find a patriotic American flag one that’s also super extra comfy? This one’s only for decoration, and resting while watching TV, and—”

“You’re such a weirdo with your pillows!” Aunt Sally rolled her eyes, leaning back on her hands. “Anyway, Trista, the squad uses them for target practice every time we go out shooting. I actually have whole stacks of them in my trunk right now.”

“No way, no how are we doing that dumb idea!” I said as I zigzagged through the three of them on my way towards the front door. I had to get them off these horrible subjects. “Aunt Sally, speaking of the car, you left your lights on.”

“Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder.” Aunt Sally reached into her pocket and pressed her keys, shutting off the red-and-blue flashing lights. “I needed to let you all know I was here, and I know how much you love it.”

“You nearly made me jump out of my skin.” I turned around, zigzagging my way back towards the kitchen. “I was playing a computer game, then the moment a scary guy jumped out—”

“Bang! Right in the nuggets!” Trista’s hand almost hit me as I stepped to the side.

“No!” I said, taking another step. “More like bang! Red and blue—”

“—balls!” Aunt Sally’s fist stopped a centimeter away as I stepped over her legs.

“No!” I did a little hop as I lifted my back foot. “I meant your—”

“—red, white and blue foot-pillow!” Mom stuck her feet out while she held the pillow on the end.

Aunt Sally's leg jerked at the last second, causing me to trip.

“Whee!” Mom jammed her heels in, crushing my balls against the pillow as she grabbed my hands, rolled backwards, and lifted me into the air. “Like that airplane game we used to play when you were younger!”

My balls were squashed like pancakes as she rolled completely over, launching me on my back.

“Perfect execution.” Aunt Sally clapped while they all laughed. “Exactly how I taught you! Except his landing could’ve used a little work.”

I tried my hardest not to hold my balls—Mom’s heels really compressed each one individually, then jammed in harder as she tossed me—but the more I’d react and show weakness with Aunt Sally around, the more they’d all pile on, so I just decided to lay there in silence, arms out, breathing heavy, trying to catch my breath. Can’t give them any reason to—

Trista stared down at me and raised her foot. “I’ll go get the ice packs!”

“Get his stomach!” Aunt Sally screamed.

Trista smirked as she slammed her foot towards my crotch, stopping at the last second, then used my stomach as a step on her way to the kitchen.

“Did I really squish your nuggets?” Mom looked like a confused turtle while she was laying on her back, staring upside-down at me. “I’m so sorry!”

“No,” I said, trying to ignore the pain, “I just need a few seconds to breathe. You just knocked the air out of me with that sweet flip!”

“Oh, okay, that’s good,” Mom said as she stood up with Aunt Sally. “Because I wouldn’t want to lose any free hits yet!”

Aunt Sally looked confused as they both walked towards the kitchen.

“Mom’s Law!” Mom used my stomach as a step. “I didn’t tell you about that yet?”

“Nope.” Aunt Sally bumped into Mom as she looked down towards me. “Did you just—”

“Don’t worry about him,” Mom said as she wiggled her toes, then stepped off and headed towards the kitchen. “He loves our floor massages now. Even cleans up the spills for us too!”

A few seconds later, Aunt Sally shrugged, then pressed one foot down on my stomach.

“You really shouldn’t let those two walk all over you. You’ll never get toughened up like that.” Aunt Sally stepped up with both incredibly sweaty police socks. “But me on the other hand…”

I groaned, grabbing onto her leg with both hands as she shuffled around.

“This is what happens if you…” Aunt Sally lifted her foot, wiggling her toes as she hovered it above my crotch. “Tell me you won’t break the law this weekend!”

“I won’t! I won’t!”

“Wow.” Aunt Sally pressed it back on my chest. “That was so much more effective than the hotbox. Remember those days?”

“Sally!” Mom yelled from the kitchen. “Are you—”

“Coming!” Aunt Sally smiled as she leaned down and pinched my nose. “Bobby here was just telling me all about the fun times we used to have during sleepovers!”

“Like that time you made him smell your—”

“Yep!” Aunt Sally stepped right on my nose, then made her way to the kitchen. “That was his favorite game!”

My entire face already smelled like a full 12-hour shift of sweat. The cloud of oniony stench even followed me as I made my way upstairs to take a shower. And by the time I hobbled in front of the bathroom mirror… my balls hurt, my eyes watered, my nose stung—and my nightmare was only just beginning.
