Luna Lovegood Tries An Experiment

After graduating from Hogwarts, Luna spent an extra year at Hogwarts to perform academic Wizarding research. She was studying the emotions of magic. She had a theory that, in performing a spell, the emotion of the Wizard could influence the effect of the spell. There was the example of patronus charm, which needed to be performed by a happy wizard in order to achieve maximum potential.

Luna tried to do her research herself by casting different spells in different emotional states, but she found that she could not force herself into strong enough emotional states to adequately perform the research.

So she had an idea: if she could find someone to experiment on, she could try to force them to experience strong emotions like pain, anger, sorrow. Though slightly unethical at first glance, Luna figured she could erase the memory of her test subject and no harm would be done.

One night, Luna went down to the Ravenclaw common-room, where she found Bryce Smith, a current 7th-Year who had a massive crush on her and constantly harassed her when she still went to Hogwarts as a student. He was sitting on a couch. When Luna walked into the room, his eyes lit up and he could not contain his smile. Luna immediately saw that a bulge was forming in his trousers.

"Hi Bryce," Luna said softly.

"Luna! Hi!"

"Bryce, I hate to bother you, but could you help me lift something in the room of requirement? It seems I need a strong man."

Brice immediately grinned and stood up. His ego was appeased.

Luna led him to the room of requirement. On the way, Bryce asked annoying questions, like if she was single. She tried to speak as little as possible.

When they got to the room, Luna silently requested for a small, empty room. When they opened the door, they found exactly that.

Bryce glanced at Luna. "What's this?" he asked.

Without answering the question, Luna immediately cast a series of spells, which caused Bryce to be immobilized in the air, legs and arms spread as wide as possible.

"What are you doing, you crazy bitch."

Luna gasped and immediately cast another spell that shut his lips entirely.

"Bryce, I'm sorry, but I need to perform an experiment on you. Don't worry, I'll erase your memory after."

Bryce tried to say something, but nothing came out.

Luna made a fist, and punched Bryce right in the balls. His body shook in pain, he groaned in agony, but he could do nothing.

"Bryce, do you remember at the Yule Ball, when you asked me for a dance and I said no? And then you grabbed my waist and forced me to dance with you? That wasn't very kind. I think that's why I think it's ok for me to do this experiment on you."

Luna needed to get him into the first emotional state: fear. She was ready to make this boy beg for mercy.
