Residential certificate requirement

I just want to know if residential certificate is required anywhere in this whole process: JEE mains > Jee Advanced > Josaa counselling > Some college NIT/IIT/Whatever

I had already attempted JEE in 2021 and 2022 is my drop year, so I know that it wasn't required in the JEE registration. I want to know further. from anyone who has experience.

I don't have a residential certificate, would my aadhar card work as an address proof?
