PBP - no text notification

Has anyone successfully paired their pixel buds pro, with messages+ on a galaxy S10+?

I can use hey Google to read and send texts, but it doesn't actually notify me when a text comes in.

It worked great on my galaxy buds pro

Note: I have the 122+ firmware update
