Dog doesn't know its own power

I recently moved into a new family, and they have a very affectionate and hyper dog. She'll come running towards you as soon as she sees you, and jumps up on you, and wiggles right on your legs. Problem is, she's heavier than I am and made of pure muscle. How do I teach her to restrain herself?
